DID YOU KNOW? The Kids Castle Playground in Cranberry Township’s Community Park was twice the CTCC’s Project of the Year, undergoing two renovations.
Kids Castle replaced a 22-year-old wooden structure, Playtime Palace, dedicated in September 2013. It was brought to life with the help of approximately 300 volunteers and the hard work of the Township’s Public Works personnel and project contractors. As part of the project, climbing, bouncing, rolling, and swinging equipment was arranged into three themed play areas.
But after nearly a decade of heavy use, the playground needed some care to ensure it remained a safe and exciting space for future generations. In 2022, the Cranberry CUP stepped up once again as the project's title sponsor to renovate the space. New features included a new playground apparatus, a kid-size zipline, additional and new surface space, and a grand entranceway.
Next time you visit Kids Castle, remember the community effort that built it and the dedication that keeps it going strong!
